Dipa Karmakar and her coach Bisweshwar Nandi will be felicitated at the CSJC annual awards ceremony 2015-16.[/caption]Internet Desk: Golden girl of Indian gymnastics Dipa Karmakar will be the star attraction for the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club annual award ceremony.As part of its diamond jubilee celebrations, the CSJC will honour Dipa Karmakar, the first Indian woman to qualify for gymnastics in the Olympics, and her coach Bisheswar Nandi at its annual awards function at Rotary Sadan on Wednesday.
Ace paddler Mouma Das, who made it to her second Olympics, too will be honoured as will table tennis star Soumyajit Ghosh who too has qualified for the Rio Olympics.
East Bengal’s star striker Ranti Martins, who won the golden boot in the recently-concluded I-League, will be feted for his contribution to football
Ace Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal was chosen as the Best Indian Sportsperson for her stellar run in 2015 during which she also became the world No. 1 singles player.
Tennis legend Jaidip Mukerjea, hockey Olympic gold medallist Bir Bahadur Chhetri and reputed powerlifter and weighlifter Sumita Laha will be the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement awards.
