Former World T20 Winning Captains to be Felicitated at Eden Gardens on April 03

Internet Desk: If you have witnessed a grand function ahead of  the India-Pakistan World T20 clash at the Eden Gardens on March 19, you are in for another mega function at the same venue for the finals of ICC World T20 on April 03.

Cricket Association of Bengal is trying to present all the former WorldT20 winning captains for the final. MS Dhoni (2007), Younis Khan (2009), Paul Collingwood (2010), Darren Sammy (2012) and Lasith Malinga (2014) is likely to be present for the grand final. The former T20 winning captains will be felicitated in a glittering ceremony.

CAB is also trying to have a cultural programme which will feature a fusion by tabla maestro Bikram Ghosh along with a dance performance from Mamata Shankar ballet troupe. Since there is a double header with the women’s final preceding the men’s one, the CAB is yet to get the green signal from for the cultural event from the ICC .

A fan zone will also be created in a section of the ground . Grand fireworks will also be on display after the final.It is also learnt CAB will also host a dinner for the two finalist teams along with officials from ICC and BCCI.

Earlier CAB presented Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali to sing the national anthem before the start of the marquee clash between India and Pakistan on March 19. Former legendary cricketers of  both countries like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram , Waqar Younis , Sunil Gavaskar , Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were felicitated before the match in the presence of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
