Image Source: vk.com[/caption]Internet Desk: Teenage prodigy Marcus Rashford scored two goals on his premier league debut as Manchester United defeated Arsenal 3-2 at the Old Trafford. Ander Herrera was the other scorer for United while Dany Welbeck and Mesut Ozil were on target for Arsenal.
The first real chance of the match came through Marcus Rashford. The 18 year old was brought down just outside the box and the referee gave a penalty at the edge of the box. Memphis however hit the free kick straight to Peter Cech. Rashford gave the lead to United at the 29th minutes. Gabriel failed to clear Varela’s cross and Rashford shot it past from the center of the box. It was Rashford again at the stroke of 32 minutes to double the lead. Lingard sent a delightful cross from the right flank and Rashford headed home to make it 2-0.
Arsenal reduced the deficit just before the halftime. Welbeck headed past De Gea from a Mesut Ozil freekick. Rashford was again involved in the third goal. He superbly passed two defenders and then feeds the ball to Herrera who shots it from 20 yards to make it 3-1 although the ball had deflected off Arsenal’s French defender Laurent koscielny. Ozil made it 3-2 at the 69th minutes. Sanchez curls a superb cross from the right hand side and it came straight to Welbeck. Welbeck’s close range shot was saved by David De Gea . The rebound came to Ozil who volleyed it past the United Custodian.
Arsenal’s title hopes shattered after this loss.Arsenal are now on third on the table with 51 points while United are on fifth with 44 points.
